Hello, all you music lovers. I have always used youtube for some basic song info, but I am not a big music person and when I do listen it is almost exclusively to classical or blues folk rock. I have used pandora for this exercise and love it! I called my station Deep Blue, Best Blue, For you, kick back listen to some Muddy Waters and Robert Johnson, and be ready to have the Blues roll through.
I still use over the air radio for most of my home and car use, I just don't listen to music as much as I might otherwise do. I do listen to audiobooks relentlessly and enjoy them, but they aren't on pandora too much.

RSS Feeds me
So now that I have RSS'd the library and my blog and the KCpl blog, I feel relatively comfortable in saying that I am really only doing this for the CEU and there hasn't been anythin in this that I have had a hard time doing, I just wish I had more time to stay current with the program.

Wiki Week prt. 1
Wiki Wiki Wiki, for a while they were the darling product of the internet meets corporate technology baby boom. All the business books seemed to add a Wiki section and several books were made just for how to jump on the Wiki bandwagon. Wiki's are good solid ways to share information in a database format but not so good at providing running commentary, or at adapting multiple input matrices into a cohesive data pool. Wiki's do what they do, and they do that pretty well but don't expect wiki's to solve problems for you they are simply a tool to use to allow multiple users to edit a data set in a collaberative manner.
Library Wiki roundup
The library wiki's that I looked (libsuccess) at were a bit older and had not been updated recently so they had dated inputs but generally showed the limits of Wiki and the benefits too. They allowed multiple users to provide universal access to information and also acted as a "cloud" space to store updated information. The discussion pools for this information was limited and may have taken place in a non-wiki environment like e-mail. The Wiki's I viewed were navigable and layered information in subject centered data and discussion threads.
Non Library Wiki roundout
I visited the NFL wiki that was listed on the 24 things. The articles were well done but not extensive. I felt that the overall feel of the sight felt dated, even though recent posts were being added all the time. The introductory post was about last years super bowl, but the posts under it had this super bowl included. I found this site to be very limited probably because the wiki lacked regular posters and also lacked a regular update guru to keep things up to date.
Part Deux
I really think that the Kcpl wiki might be off, I am not sure I did that one correctly or not but there was not a particapants heading. Or has it been removed? Anyway I inserted my Library Guy page into the kcpl intranet wiki. lots of fun there!

Privacy
Privacy is hiding, concealing, or otherwise obfuscating, which is easy if you are a needle in a haystack of needles. Spending 2 or 3 minutes to limit your exposure is an easy fix. The various guides to privacy are all extremely helpful, and if you have ever had a credit card number filched or a weird statement on your credit report it is definitely worth the time.
My name is ordinarily common, it takes some pretty specific keywords to get to me, which is a slight comfort. The difficulty is that I wouldn't really spend the time to set up any security because I am a needle in a haystack of needles. However having been victimized by ID theft it becomes pretty easy to remind myself that I can be at risk just like anyone else.

A Digital Collaberator?
I am at work writing this for work, believe it or not. My job is now having me blog about a test I took this morning. The survey results are in, I am a Digital Collaberator. "Ta DA" I don't really think that that quite fits but well, very few things do. What is a Digital Collaberator as a opposed to a desktop detective, or any other nickname that could be offered for a quick quiz on an internet site.
